As far as books are concerned, I heartily recommend the Adams and Austen Press books you can see advertised further up on this page.

As an IELTS Tutor, it’s probably not my place to publicly argue with respected publish material!

In any case, I believe this essay absolutely merits its band 9 score.

Thank you very much for the postings.. They are very helpful for me. I sat the test a month ago for my nursing registration. I passed the three aspects but failed on writing (only got band 6 where I need at least band score 7 for my registration). I plan to re sit the test next week..

Hi Alanna,

Im a IELTS learner. In this essay, I saw the term ‘in live’ 3 times and the word ‘achieve’ 5 times, do you think the essay was overrated with band 9?

HI
I had appeared for the IELTS and below is my score
L: 8.5
R: 8.0
W: 6.5
S: 7.0

I need a 7 in each band and am short of 0.5 in Writing Section. I have applied for remarking of Writing Section only. What do you think are the chances of increasing the score?

Also to be on safer side, I have started preparation for a second attempt. Could you please suggest online material or books for IELTS preparation. Where can I get Writing and Speaking topics for practise?
